APW - Elgin, 17J, 16S, gold-filled original HC with beautiful engine turning and engraving detail, fancy white and pink enamel SS dial with gold foil decorations, fancy gilt Louis XV style hands, SW-SS, nickel damascene, s#16310216. This watch is highlighted by its beautiful case and dial, both in superb condition.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticking sluggishly after a reluctant start, overhaul recommended, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few small bits of oxide to larger winding wheel, mismatched case screws; dial with two light perimeter hls outside minute chapter near 9:30, small edge flakes under bezel at 9:30 and 1; excellent hands; case shows hardly any wear, mild small ding to band near 1, some scattered nicks elsewhere to band, excellent engine turning and engraving detail, case rear opens somewhat short of 90 degrees (to approximately 75 degrees); tight bow, crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal.
